February 29, 2008 – Billings, MT – Singer and comedian Jade Esteban Estrada will discuss HIV/AIDS awareness on the local KULR-8 television program “Today in Montana” at 6:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008. The award-winning entertainer will also perform segments of his one-man musical “A Lullaby for Ryan: The History of HIV/AIDS in America” which will make its Montana premiere at 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Venture Theatre in Billings.

The Billings production of “A Lullaby for Ryan” is produced by the Yellowstone AIDS Project. Proceeds benefit YAP, a not-for-profit organization that offers HIV testing, community outreach and presentation, emergency support, housing assistance and other services to persons in Montana living with HIV/AIDS.

Estrada’s first appearance on “Today in Montana” was in September 2000 when he was the master of ceremonies for the Miss Montana USA Pageant at the Billings Hotel and Conference Center.

The Canadian-based comedy web site The Comedy Green Room recently named Estrada the ‘Comic of the Week.’

Tom Sime of the Dallas Morning News calls Estrada, "…funny and irreverent.”

Estrada debuted his first solo show “It’s Too Late…It’s Already In Me…” at the Festival de Libre Enganche in 1997 and a decade later has been compared to Ruth Draper, Lily Tomlin and other luminaries in the field of solo theatre.

“…One of the finest solo theatre artists of the 21st century,” raves Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine.

Formally the choreographer to television personality Charo and a scratch vocalist for the Back Street Boys, Estrada came to international attention when Out Magazine christened him, "the first gay Latin star" in 2000. Estrada released his debut CD "Angel" (Vicarious) in 2001 and in 2002 took part in the "Being Out Rocks" (Centaur) CD compilation in honor of National Coming Out Day for the Human Rights Campaign.

In October 2006, Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher paid tribute to Estrada by commissioning him the title of "Kentucky Colonel," the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky that acknowledges outstanding ambassadors of goodwill and fellowship around the world. The Texas native joined other honorary colonels which include Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope, Joan Crawford, Johnny Depp, Muhammad Ali and Pope John Paul II.

Estrada's television credits include appearances on the Emmy-nominated "In the Life TV" on PBS, and "The Graham Norton Effect" on Comedy Central. His popular Latin dance music can be heard on the Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning police drama, "The Shield" on the FX Network. He has recently returned to work on NBC’s second season of “Friday Night Lights.”

"Most performers would be happy to have a fraction of Jade Esteban Estrada's career," states Marty Rosen of the Louisville Courier-Journal. Hector Saldana of the San Antonio Express-News calls him "a show biz messiah." Roy Proctor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch calls him "a master entertainer." “A good bet this weekend,” says Tom Horgen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Estrada’s other solo shows include “Gay Christian, Gay Muslim, Gay Jew,” “Pico de Gallo,” and “Tortilla Heaven.” He recently opened his tenth solo theatre show “Chek it, Baby: A Fabulous Explanation of Anton Chekhov’s Fiercest Plays” at the 2008 Twin Cities Chekhov Festival.”

Estrada has been in several new films this year including “The Blue Note,” “Callous,” “Crosshairs,” and the highly anticipated “The Innocent Killers.” He also recently debuted his own a designer humor line of bilingual greeting cards, “Jade Esteban Estrada for Nos Vemos Greetings.”
