Leading brick maker, Ibstock, has extended its highly successful Online Design Guide series with the launch of a second book, which has been specifically developed to provide the ultimate reference guide to designing and specifying with brick.

The new online tool, which gives the latest information about design with brick, is aimed at architects and designers and is being released in sections on the Ibstock website. Parts one to three are currently available to download and cover topics including sustainability, plinths, and window and door openings.

Andrew Halstead-Smith, marketing manager at Ibstock, commented: “As the UK’s largest brick maker, we have drawn on our vast experience and heritage to create the industry's most comprehensive reference guide for brickwork. For us, great literature is at the core of our business because it provides our customers with all the information they need to create successful and inspiring brickwork and our online guide has everything you could ever need to know about brickwork in one place.

“We were overwhelmed with the success of our first Online Design Guide and the feedback we got from our customers was very encouraging. The second book in the series is just as informative and includes everything you need to know about brick detailing and design, we are sure that it will prove just as popular.”

Book one, which is already available to fully download, looks at all aspects of brickwork good practice including brick selection, brick bonding and mortars, exposure, movement and insulation.
