How Working with a Translation Agency Can Help with Inbound Marketing

How Working with a Translation Agency Can Help with Inbound

Working with a translation agency can be a great idea to aid your marketing efforts. The whole idea behind marketing is to connect with people. And what better way to do this than by using their own language?

As of now, inbound marketing is one of the most popular marketing techniques in the digital marketing world. So it can help you, as a company, to figure out what inbound marketing means and the various ways in which you can use it to promote your business. You can also use translation as one of your inbound techniques.

Traditional Outbound Marketing Methods.

Traditional marketing methods are all outbound. When you think of advertising methods that you are familiar with, which ones come to mind? TV ads? Print ads? Billboards? What do all these advertising/marketing methods have in common?

If you think about it, you’ll realize that in all these methods, the company is reaching out to the customer and trying to persuade him/her to buy a product or use a service. The idea is that if several hundred or thousand people see an ad, at least a small percentage of them are going to do what you want them to do. They’ll go to the store and buy your product. Or they’ll call up and make an appointment.

Seems pretty inefficient doesn’t it? That’s because it is. Think about it from your own point of view. How often do you see an advertisement and run out to buy that product? Pretty rarely right? Most of us are so used to being bombarded by marketing on all sides that it rarely catches our eye anymore. We’ve learned to tune it out.

Contemporary Inbound Marketing Methods

Inbound marketing works differently. It doesn’t depend on numbers. With inbound marketing, the company is no longer trying to reach out to the customer. Instead, they’re doing their best to be prepared when the customer reaches out to them. And this can happen for various reasons.

Let’s say you see your friend wearing a dress that you like. You ask her when she bought it. And then you go online to explore that website yourself. Now if that company has been doing their share of inbound marketing, then they’ll have a good online presence. You’ll only have to do one search and their website, blog and social media pages will show up. So you’ll get all the information you need about the product. Plus, it also helps if the company has set up an ecommerce website. This will enable you to make the purchase there and then.

Inbound Marketing and Translation

The essence of inbound marketing is preparedness. And what better way to be prepared for a customer than speaking their language? You can set up a beautiful website with a great color scheme and eye-catching images. You can update your blog every week. You can update your social media pages quite often. But what good is that going to do if your customer doesn’t speak your language?

Fortunately, you don’t have to set up a whole different website with different content if you’re trying to appeal to a demographic that speaks a different language. You can just use the same content but get a translator for it.

When are you likely to need a translator for inbound marketing? Mostly this is going to happen if you take your business abroad. For example, if you’re going to start selling the same product you’re selling in the United States in France as well, you’ll need to make sure that you have a website with French content. And, as mentioned earlier, you don’t need to get all new content. You can just translate the content you already have.

Website Translation for Inbound Marketing

This is going to be the most important aspect of inbound marketing for you. Because if a customer does a search for your company, they’re going to look for a website first. And if you don’t have one, then they won’t take you as seriously. All legit businesses tend to have websites nowadays. Only the really small ones or the ones which have just started make do with a Facebook page.

So if you’re taking your business abroad, you’ll need website translation with a good translator who understands all the nuances of translation. This has to be someone who can translate cultural references so that the people who speak the destination language understand what’s being said.

Blog Translation for Inbound Marketing

A blog is another necessity when it comes to inbound marketing. This is because a blog is going to have fresh material every week. So you can write about as many things as you want as long as they are relevant to your company, your product and your field.

A blog is great for SEO or search engine optimization. It helps you to get found by search engines like Google and Bing. So it makes it easier for customers to find you. And once they find you, they’ll read your blog and see that you have so many relevant things to say. So it will convince them that you’re legit.

But obviously, a blog will also need to be translated if you’re taking your business abroad. Or else, you’ll have done all this work and your potential customers won’t be able to understand any of it. When you’re starting up in a new country it becomes particularly important to convince people that you know what you are talking about. And a blog can help you to do it, if it is well-translated.

Social Media Page Translation for Inbound Marketing

Social media pages are also as important as the website and the blog because it’s through social media that you’re going to disseminate information about your company and product. It’s through popularity on social media that you’ll receive new customers for inbound marketing. And it’s through social media that you can communicate with your customers and listen to what they have to say.

So it’s important to have social media pages set up in the destination language and to put translated versions of your comments there.
