Bruno Greiling Overcomes Spectacular Crash and Dominates the Weekend in Spain
* Spectacular rollover on Friday; Bruno Greiling escapes with only bruises.* Thanks to strong teamwork, a new kart is ready on Saturday, and Greiling delivers top results.
* Despite finishing third in the final and a strong performance, a penalty later on affects the result.
Muelsen, May 20, 2026. Young racing driver Bruno Greiling experienced a weekend at the second round of the Spanish Championship at Motorland Aragon that could hardly have been more dramatic, both in terms of racing and emotion. After a serious rollover accident on Friday, in which his kart was completely destroyed, the 14-year-old and his team responded with remarkable composure, determination, and impressive mental fortitude.
Right up until Friday afternoon, Greiling had shown a very good pace in practice. Then came the shocking moment in the afternoon: a spectacular rollover crash brought the day to an abrupt end. Bruno was thrown from the kart but remained uninjured apart from a few bruises. The kart, however, was no longer race-ready.
What followed was a strong display of team unity. Just in time for the final practice session, the team got a new kart up and running so that Greiling could complete more laps and check the setup. The driver and team classified the incident as a racing accident and immediately got back to work together. It was precisely this reaction that made the weekend a special testament to professionalism and mental strength.
Saturday then became the sporting antithesis of the previous day. In the warm-up, Greiling set the first fastest time; in his group, he finished first in qualifying and thus second in the overall standings. He was also unbeatable in both qualifying races: starting from pole position, he won the first heat; in the second heat, he also prevailed after starting from second position and finished first once again.
On Sunday, Greiling first confirmed his exceptional position in the Superheat. Starting from pole position, he crossed the finish line in second place, thereby securing first place overall after the qualifying races as well as the trophy with the number one. In the final, a highly intense battle then unfolded at the front, with up to eight riders vying for victory. Greiling initially held his own strongly from pole position and crossed the finish line in third place, before a later decision by the race stewards pushed the result further back.
Quote from Bruno Greiling:
"In my nearly seven years as a race car driver, I've rarely experienced such a strong weekend. I want to thank my team for their incredible work and for their trust in me. On the track, I dominated qualifying and my qualifying races. In the final, up to eight drivers fought fiercely for the win. I really had a blast. The track is great, with ups and downs, challenging corner combinations, and wild slipstreaming."
"A huge thank you goes to my team, including team boss Oriol Dalmau, my coach Carlos Leon, my car chief Jaime, and our engine partner Grice Engines. The entire team did an amazing job getting the car back in top shape after the crash."
