Dynamic Growth of the Ottobock Group
Heinrich Popow – Ottobock Paralympics Ambassador and gold medal winner in the 100 metres in London
With a sales increase of 15.2 % to EUR 794.4 million, EBITDA growth of 12.8 % to EUR 128.3 million and total operating performance of EUR 869.6 million, the family company and global market leader in orthopaedics technology based in Duderstadt, Lower Saxony is growing fast. Not only Otto Bock HealthCare but also the Foam and Sycor divisions contributed to this favourable outcome with double-digit growth in sales and earnings.
Record investments of EUR 82.6 million and 518 new employees in the group for a total of more than 6,000 employees worldwide highlight 2012 as an extremely successful year.
There is no doubt that the high point in 2012 was the Paralympics in London, supported by Ottobock with a global team of technicians in the role of Technical Service Provider.
President & CEO Professor Hans Georg Näder: “Our plans for 2013 include sales and earnings growth close to the double digits, high investments and creating new jobs – our global presence and a pipeline full of new products, the strength of our brand and an outstanding team are effective growth drivers.”

Founded in Berlin back in 1919, the medical technology company has become a global market leader in the field of prosthetics.
