Pivet Self-Cycle Cases for iPhone 12 launch at Best Buy

Black-owned consumer electronics company; Pivet, has launched into Best Buy stores with their environmentally friendly Aspect Case range for the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Pivet was thrilled to be part of Best Buy’s Black History Month efforts earlier this year. The ‘Write The Next Chapter’ campaign highlighted the stories of people in tech and how they’re shaping the future of tech.

Now Pivet set their sights on solving an issue that is affecting the world. 

Plastic pollution is an issue we are all familiar with. Most of us know that the average American produces 3,700 bottles in plastic waste each year and approximately 90% of this waste goes to landfill, but perhaps many don’t know what happens next… an estimated 4 billion metric tons will become what is known as ‘fugitive waste’ and escape into the environment by 2050. 

Some in the consumer electronics and phone case market have taken positive steps to try and tackle the plastic pollution crisis by reclaiming waste or using alternative materials and compost options, however, either through case design, functionality, or disposal method all current solutions compromise the user experience to some degree.

Pivet Founder Michael Pratt was determined to create a product that tackled the issue of ‘fugitive waste’ with a solution that wouldn’t affect the consumer experience in any way. So the team focused on the 90% landfill issue, their goal was to stop Pivet products ever having the chance to enter the environment. Pivet were searching for a ‘Guilt-Free’ solution, and they found it with Self-Cycle technology.

Without any change in the case experience, Self-Cycle technology utilizes Toto-toa enhanced materials blended within the case, to ensure the plastic is 100% bio-available to natures decaying agents found in areas such as landfills. This means when you are finished with your case and recycling is not available, you can simply put the case in the trash and Self-Cycle technology will do the rest. No micro plastics, no waste, everything will be consumed back into organic material.
