SMIITY brings international tourism award to Portugal
"It is with great pride and joy that we have received this international distinction with SMIITY. SMIITY is an app compatible with iOS and Android mobile devices that allows regions, cities and monuments to communicate with tourists and citizens. All through interaction with beacons, small signal emitters that connect to the user's smartphone via Bluetooth.
With the SMIITY solution, the citizen or tourist has access to the main news, events, trails and points of interest of the destination in which he is and in the language of his device. All the information is at a one-touch distance and does not require the use of additional equipment or conventional tour guides.
The app also features a Text-to-Speech (Visual Assistant) functionality that converts text content to audio, making SMIITY more user friendly to the blind community.
Innovative is also the option of Augmented Reality, in the search of points of interest. When enabling this feature on the map, the camera of the smartphone opens and when the user rotates the device around him, the citizen or tourist can view the main points of interest near him.
SMIITY can be downloaded for free on Google Play and the App Store. There is also a version for Apple Watch.
