SMIITY is the only Portuguese finalist of App Tourism Awards 2018

About the Spanish market, Guillermo Rosingana considers that "Spain is a very receptive market to our solutions focused on the sector of Smart Tourism. With the arrival of smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and wearables, the new technologies put themselves at the service of the tourist".
He also defines the profile of the new “digital tourist””: "This new digital, hyper-connected and multi-channel tourist, accustomed to using his mobile devices and apps at home, to interact with the world and make his life more comfortable, needs to be connected and have access to mobile services throughout the various stages of a trip (before, during and after)".
"SMIITY responds perfectly to this 'smart tourist' need, whether in the preparation of the journey or in the interaction with the destination. Our app is a key element for new smart tourism destinations", concludes mobinteg’s country manager.
The winning apps of each category will be announced on January 18th in FITUR (International Tourism Fair), an annual tourism fair that takes place in Madrid, Spain.
App Tourism Awards goal is to reward the best Spanish and international apps that in one way or another help improve the experience of tourists on the go.
About SMIITY:
SMIITY is a free smart tourism app, compatible with iOS and Android mobile devices, that allows citizens and tourists to interact with cities, regions and monuments, without the use of conventional tour guides or other additional equipment.
Through integration with Beacons, small signal emitters that interact with the user's smartphone using a Bluetooth connection, the citizen or tourist receives push notifications with exclusive content whenever approaching a building or monument.
In addition to these notifications, SMIITY provides the user with local and contextual information of each destination in the language of the device, such as news, events, trails and points of interest. These points of interest can be found through a map or using a Augmented Reality tool, if the user activates it and then point the camera of the smartphone around him.
SMIITY is an extremely inclusive tool, namely to the blind community, since it integrates a text-to-speech option (Visual Assistant) that transforms written content in audio.
