Using fever agains cancer

Using fever agains cancer

Fever is not an illness. Fever is a natural and vital defence reaction against disease-causing agents. A fever eliminates the pathogens, accelerates metabolic procedures and stimulates detoxification of the body. When a patient has cancer, however, the body is not capable of producing a fever.
This is the starting point for Dr. med. Peter Wolf's therapeutic hyperthermia (= overheating). For over 20 years the specialist physician has been running his clinic in Hannover, focussing on complementary oncology.
"It happens again and again that the growth of tumors cannot be stopped with standard therapies," Dr. Wolf explains. "For some time now another method of fighting cancer has been used - hyperthermia. By means of specifically targeted overheating the cancer cells are to be destroyed."

Hyperthermia therapy consists of overheating the tumor tissue from the outside. The goal of the treatment is to destroy the tumor cells or to hinder their growth using temperatures above 39.5º C. At the same time, healthy tissue is not affected by the heat.
This process of overheating leads to a lack of oxygen so that there is excessive acidity in the heated cells and a lack of nutrients in the tumor. This then destroys the metabolism of the cells, and cell death in the tumor can set in.

A further goal of hyperthermia can be to enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy or radiation or to make previously unsuccessful chemotherapy or radiation effective in conjunction with overheating.
"We have technical equipment at our Center that can create overheating at a specific local point or in the whole body," says Dr. Wolf.
Tumor cells are invisible to the immune system. From the knowledge by using hyperthemia therapy, we know that the tumor cells change under the influence of heat and produce 'heat shock proteins', a certain kind of protein that appears on the surface of the mutated cells. The body's own immune system recognises these proteins as an alien substance in the body. This is the sign for the defense cells to start fighting the cancer cells. Healthy cells do not produce heat shock proteins.

Escape phenomena
Thanks to research on cancer cells another phenomenon has become more and more prominent: the escape mechanisms of cancer cells. "We speak of escape mechanisms when the cells manage to hide, make themselves invisible or send out messenger substances that suppress the body's immune system," as Dr. Wolf of Hannover puts it. "Orthodox medicine with its chemotherapy and radiation cannot combat these escape phenomena very well, since these mutated cells in the body have managed to develop immune mechanisms of their own against radiation and chemotherapy during the course of treatment."
These capabilities can only be acquired when the cancer cells succeed in turning off the immune system. This means that the tumor is not recognized as such by the body's immune system and continues to grow merrily without restraint.
"That is the reason why at our Center the individual patient's immune status is carefully determined and the immune system monitored in order to recognize these escape phenomena in good time," says Dr. Wolf. "Active fever therapy, as a part of loco-regional deep hyperthermia therapy, is a very effective therapy against these escape phenomena."
Active fever therapy with its bursts of fever is especially effective in changing the surface of cancer cells and activating many messenger substances that in turn stimulate the immune system to recognize the cancer cells and destroy them. There are also a number of very potent medications that change the information on and in the cancer cell through their messenger substances in such a way that the cancer cells are exposed, recognized and removed.
Another phenomenon of this therapy is that the cancer cells can be induced to become healthy cells and submit to the body's building plan.

Hyperthermia is not provided for in the standard health insurance plan in Germany. However, the costs can be covered in individual cases upon application. The Federal Constitutional Court handed down a decision in December 2005 that a patient suffering from a normally fatal disease cannot be refused certain treatments and that the costs for such treatments must be paid for by the standard health insurance if an improvement of the situation can be expected.

The outpatient clinic opened in 1983 in Oskar-Winter-Str. 9 in Hanover. The concept of holistic medicine provided the model for the office: a salutary synthesis of traditional medicine with naturopathic treatments and homeopathy. The whole person has formed the focus of Dr. Peter Wolf medical activity since that time.

Homeopathy, psychotherapy, acupuncture and biological cancer treatment are all therapies which make body, mind and spirit the focal point of the conflict between health and illness. Four years ago, the department of Biological Cancer Treatment was completed by two modern fever therapy (hyperthermia) treatments: whole body hyperthermia and locoregional hyperthermia.

Our entire program of treatments is available in our premises since 2003.

"But chemotherapy has three fundamental disadvantages: Chemotherapeutics do not distinguish
