Free Veterinary Care During Military Appreciation Month 2026

Free Veterinary Care During Military Appreciation Month 2026

Duluth, GA (April 13, 2026) - In honor of Military Appreciation Month, Planned PEThood of Georgia is offering free veterinary care for the pets of active-duty, veterans and retired military families in Gwinnett County, May 1 to May 31, 2026.

This month-long initiative, made possible through the generous support of the Sunstate Foundation, reflects Planned PEThood's mission to make veterinary care more affordable and accessible. This helps keep dogs and cats healthy, families together, animals out of shelters, and prevent suffering before it starts.

At its Duluth clinic, the organization will provide no-cost veterinary services to qualifying families, including preventive and routine care. Military families may receive care for up to two pets per household.

"Too many families are forced to delay or go without basic veterinary care- because veterinary costs have skyrocketed, and are now out of reach" said CJ Bentley, CEO, Planned PEThood of Georgia.

"Closing that gap is central to our mission. In a community like Gwinnett County- home to nearly 39,000 veterans and a large population of active-duty service members and their families- it's especially important that we show up in meaningful ways. Because of the Sunstate Foundation's support, we're able to remove those barriers and extend that commitment to military families, ensuring their pets receive the care they need while honoring their service and sacrifice."

Program Highlights
• Available to active-duty, veterans and retired military families living in Gwinnett County
• Up to two pets per household
• Appointments required; limited availability
• $35 booking deposit (fully refunded at time of visit)
• Valid military ID requested
