Countdown to 100,000 Spay and Neuter Surgeries

DULUTH, GA, November 3, 2025 - Planned PEThood of Georgia has reached a major milestone in its mission to reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare. On October 23, the nonprofit organization recently completed its 100,000th spay/neuter surgery at its Duluth clinic, a historic achievement more than 15 years in the making.

Since opening its doors in 2010, Planned PEThood has worked to make affordable spay/neuter and veterinary care accessible to families, shelters, and community cat caretakers across Georgia. The 100,000 surgeries performed include beloved family pets, community cats through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) programs, and shelter animals awaiting adoption.

"Thank you to the team for their compassion and their skill and thank you to the community who helps us by providing us with volunteer and financial support. We couldn't do what we do without you," said CJ Bentley, CEO of Planned PEThood.

Each spay or neuter procedure helps prevent unwanted litters, reduce overcrowding in animal shelters, and promote healthier, happier pets. Together, these 100,000 surgeries have made a lasting impact on the welfare of animals throughout Georgia.
