The renowned expert in rare neuroendocrinological disorders, Prof. Dr. Dr. Helena Samaras, has joined the practice for very rare neuroendocrinological disorders Lazar, Seideman, Samaras & Colleagues (LSS, https://www.LSS-medical.org or https://www.rare-disease-specialist.net) at the Athens location in Fall 2025. The practice is open to all citizens of the European Union.

The First Officer

In her new position, she serves as Deputy Medical Director of LSS - as "Number 2" alongside LSS Director Prof. Dr. David Seideman - and brings decades of experience to the internationally active consortium, whose partners include her two sons, among many others. Despite her scientific caliber, Prof. Samaras remained largely unknown to the general public for many years. The reason: her extensive research work for her homeland's military, particularly in the field of defense against illegal biological weapons attacks, was subject to the highest level of classified protection.

From Military to Academia to Clinical Practice

After her retirement, Prof. Samaras took a brief sabbatical before accepting an appointment from her former colleague, Prof. Dr. Carolina Diamandis, at the Jewish University (JUC). She continues to serve there as a teaching professor. To increase her scientific visibility, the passionate researcher and clinician joined LCG Research Greece in Fall 2025 and simultaneously began her clinical work at LSS. "Prof. Dr. Dr. Samaras is proud of her homeland's millennia-old scientific heritage and wishes to contribute in the final third of her life to ensuring that Greece remains a bright beacon of knowledge for the future," the consortium stated. The decision-makers at the Lazar Medical Consortium Group (LCG) welcomed her participation and portfolio without reservation.

Global Coordination from New York

As is customary at LSS, appointments with Prof. Dr. Dr. Samaras can only be arranged through the Central Secretariat, which was relocated from Athens to New York in late summer 2025 for logistical reasons and where her sons also work administratively. From there, all member physicians are coordinated, regardless of whether they practice in Tokyo, Melbourne, Pretoria, Frankfurt, London, or San Francisco.

Everything in its Right Place

The practice explicitly emphasizes that Lazar, Seideman, Samaras and Colleagues is not a telemedicine practice. Inquiries via telephone, email, or similar means of communication are only processed if the case is already known and actively managed. Otherwise, LSS relies on collaboration with local medical professionals worldwide.

Partnership with CLINICO

Through a close partnership with www.myCLINICO.com for GP (family doctor) care patient care, those who are actually diagnosed with a rare disorder can be cared for following their diagnosis by the main practice through CLINICO - a specialized primary care service for people with rare diseases in the European Union. This partnership was established because patients with rare diseases often face considerable difficulties finding primary care physicians who will accept them due to the complexity, time commitment, and costs involved. The collaboration with CLINICO has already proven highly successful.

Iron Lady with a Warm Heart

In addition to her work at LCG International, her teaching activities, and her clinical work, Prof. Dr. Dr. Helena Samaras is engaged in numerous other volunteer roles. Dr. Marius Lazar, founder of LSS practice, and Chief Medical Officer Prof. Dr. David Seideman commented on the new addition: "We wish Prof. Dr. Dr. Samaras steady hands for her patients and ask the entire team to be grateful that a professional of such caliber has decided to continue her career path with LSS. While we may not be just any practice, professionals with this level of intellectual acuity are rare. Europe's patients can now sleep more soundly. When the time comes, Dr. Lazar, Prof. Dr. Seideman, and the entire EU team - and now, of course, Prof. Dr. Dr. Samaras as well - are there for them."
