Atlantik Elektronik introduces the new Open-Q™ 8550CS SOM Development Kit from Lantronix for comprehensive evaluation of the powerful Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ QCS8550 SOC. The kit is designed for the development of demanding edge AI applications, such as industrial drones, autonomous mobile robots, intelligent camera systems or cloud gaming solutions.

At the heart of the Open-Q™ 8550CS SOM Development Kit is the Open-Q™ 8550CS System on Module (SOM), which is equipped with 48 INT8 and 12 FP16 TOPs of computing power, an energy-efficient 4nm processor and an eighth-generation AI engine. With up to 5.8 Gbit/s Wi-Fi 7 and a variety of interfaces, it is perfectly suited for demanding, heterogeneous edge computing applications.

The development kit provides developers with the perfect support to test the multiple features of the Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ QCS8550 SOC, such as the low-power AI subsystems with always-on functionality for audio, cameras and sensors. In addition, the open carrier board with access to all I/Os enables flexible and practical product development.
