YouScience Names Rich Thompson as Vice President of Business Development
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 27, 2016) – YouScience, developers of a next-generation career guidance platform, announced that Rich Thompson joined the organization as its Vice President of Business Development. Thompson will be responsible for establishing local, regional and national sponsor relationships with educational and youth support services across governmental and private sectors on behalf of YouScience."Rich is a longtime champion for expanded educational opportunity, we are excited to have him join the YouScience team,” said Philip Hardin, CEO of YouScience. “He has already had a great significance in reforming education policies across the nation. We can’t wait to see what contributions he will add to YouScience as we grow nation wide.”
Prior to YouScience, Thompson served as chief engagement officer of Ameripublic Partners, LLC, where he led a purpose-driven, strategic consulting and policy firm. He has also founded 100Dads, which promotes responsible fatherhood through civic engagement in education reform policy, and was executive director of the Georgia Parent Teacher Organization, a statewide membership organization working to promote parental engagement and support effective educational options for every child in Georgia.
“I’ve dedicated my career to helping others and making a difference in my community,” said Thompson. “YouScience allows me to impact students across the country by fulfilling their vision and dreams earlier in life.”
Thompson is a University of Georgia graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics. He currently serves as board vice-chair of Georgia Connections Academy, a statewide virtual public charter school, board trustee of the Georgia 4-H Foundation and immediate past chair of the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Advisory Council. He is married with two daughters and resides in Atlanta, GA.
