On December 5, the Guangming Science City Forum 2024 kicked off at Guangming Cloud Valley International Convention Center, bringing together cutting-edge intellectual resources at home and abroad and top minds in science and technology, education, and industry. Themed "Fusion", "Collaboration", and "Endeavour", it was hosted by Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, featuring a plenary session, as well as several thematic parallel forums held in venues at Guangming Science City and Hong Kong.

At the opening ceremony, the first batch of key scientific and technological infrastructure initiatives were launched, including the Synthetic Biology Infrastructure, Brain Science Infrastructure, and Multi-physics Instrument of China Spallation Neutron Source (Co-build a high-resolution high-flux neutron powder diffraction spectrometer with CSNS), accelerating the transformation of scientific research achievements. The inauguration of the Science and Application Research Facility for Materials and Devices for Special Environments and the Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory will boost industries like aerospace, marine engineering, nuclear energy and nuclear power in Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The Interaction Mechanism between Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone Shenzhen Park and Guangming Science City was released, and Guangming District People's Government and South China Agricultural University (SCAU) signed a cooperation framework agreement on jointly building the Shenzhen Research Institute of SCAU, further unleashing scientific and educational potential.

In accordance with related management regulations of Shenzhen City, Guangming Science City will open and share its innovation resources with global scientific research institutions, enterprises, and individuals, and all equipment can be booked online through designated platforms.
