Now Open: The Haunted Pizano, Jerome's Authentic Italian Pizzeria

JEROME, Arizona: The Haunted Group, a renowned hospitality group credited with putting Jerome and Cottonwood "on the map" as Northern Arizona tourism destinations, announces the grand opening of The Haunted Pizano. This much-anticipated authentic Italian pizzeria promises a unique blend of tradition and innovation, inviting guests to savor stone-fired pizzas, house-made pastas, and a carefully curated wine list-all within the storied walls of Jerome's oldest building.

The Haunted Pizano is the thirteenth property owned by husband-and-wife duo Eric and Michelle Jurisin. Located in the heart of Jerome, The Haunted Pizano occupies the former location of the beloved Grapes Restaurant and sits in the historic building that once housed the Pony Express and Jerome Fire Station. Rich in character and history, this new addition to Jerome's dining scene transports guests to a place where the old world meets the vibrant energy of today.

The Haunted Pizano is the most refined concept by The Haunted Group to date. The menu was born of a culinary collaboration between Executive Chef Michelle Jurisin and her son Executive Chef Eric Jurisin Jr., blending Michelle's deep knowledge of authentic Old World Italian cuisine with Eric Jr.'s experimental, French-inspired innovations. The result? A polished selection of items that honors tradition while embracing innovation.

Authentic Italian recipes with fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients line this menu, featuring traditional pizzas, like the classic Cire with Italian sausage, ricotta, and house-made mozzarella, to inventive creations like the Pear & Prosciutto, with toasted Marcona almonds, fontina, arugula, and a balsamic drizzle. Dishes such as the Bucatini Cacio E Pepe and Rigatoni Alla Vodka highlight the authenticity and artistry of the Haunted Pizano's pasta, handmade in-house daily.

As a prelude to The Haunted Pizano's entrees, guests will find a selection of antipasti, including the warming Polpette & Burrata Skillet and the delicate Tuna Carpaccio. Fresh salads like the Fennel & Citrus salad and the traditional Chopped Caesar bring balance and lightness to a hearty Italian meal. The Haunted Pizano's rotating chalkboard dessert menu highlights Chef Michelle's expertly crafted pastries and baked goods, offering selections such as classic tiramisu, limoncello cake, and a seasonal cannoli duo with flavors like Nutella and pistachio.

Guests are invited to pair their meals with a thoughtfully curated wine list, featuring small-batch Italian wines and a rotating selection of biodynamic and organic options. The Haunted Pizano's craft bar also serves up classic drinks with inventive twists, complemented by local beers on tap.

The Haunted Pizano's rich aesthetic is defined by charcoal and deep red hues, natural wood, and steel accents, creating a sophisticated yet cozy ambiance. Playful Italian gangster motifs and skeleton decor nod to Jerome's haunted history, adding whimsy to the space. With only 12 tables, including 8 intimate booths inside, 3 patio booths, and a private upstairs table for up to 10 guests, The Haunted Pizano offers a cozy, exclusive dining experience. The open kitchen showcases the artistry of pasta-making, with hand-made noodles hanging in full view, and a stone-fired pizza oven that allows guests to watch as their stone-fired pizza bakes to perfection.

"We're thrilled to bring The Haunted Pizano to Jerome," says Haunted Group owner, Eric Jurisin. "This community has supported us throughout the years, and we look forward to offering locals and visitors alike a new experience-one that reflects our love for authentic, quality Italian food, family, and the historic heart of Jerome."

The Haunted Pizano is open 11am-8pm, Friday-Monday.
