THE HAUNTED GROUP CONCLUDES "MONTH OF GIVING" WITH $40,000 DONATION TO PHOENIX CHILDREN'S

COTTONWOOD, Arizona: ​The Haunted Group hospitality group, known for putting Cottonwood and Jerome "on the map" as Northern Arizona tourism destinations, celebrated a "Month of Giving" in September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 100% of proceeds from a specially crafted cocktail would be donated to end pediatric cancer. The Haunted Group far surpassed its donation goal of $25,000, and will present a check for $40,000 to Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

During the month of September, each of The Haunted Group's six restaurants featured a "Glimmer-ita" cocktail special. 100% of profits from the sale of this item would be donated to bolster over 150 programs designed to bring children care and comfort as they take on the greatest fights of their lives. These programs are fully funded by fundraising efforts and donations.

The Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders was specifically chosen as the recipient of this donation due to its importance in the lives of Haunted Group owners Eric and Michelle Jurisin. Two years ago, Eric and Michelle's 6-year-old grandson Braxton was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer. Braxton spent six months in intensive treatment at Phoenix Children's and was able to ring the bell to celebrate his cancer-free status in 2022.

"The Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders was there for our family when we needed it most," says Eric Jurisin. "Our grandson is healthy, happy and thriving as a result of the care he received there. We knew that we needed to find a way to express our gratitude and ensure that future patients have access to the programs that made Braxton feel comforted and cared for during his battle. We asked our guests and community members to join us in raising money for this cause, and they rose to the occasion in an overwhelming way. We are thrilled to support The Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders with this donation, which was made possible by our incredible Verde Valley and Phoenix communities."

A glimmer is a moment that sparks joy: a memory, a scent, anything that instantly improves or lightens your mood. The Glimmer-ita was inspired by these special, joyful moments. This top-shelf margarita, crafted in partnership with Jose Cuervo and Cointreau, was garnished with shimmering, edible glitter. The cocktail was inspired by the moments of joy that the Jurisin family found in the darkness during Braxton's battle with cancer, many of which were courtesy of the donation-funded programs made available to patients at Phoenix Children's.

Braxton will present the donation, made possible by the generosity of The Haunted Group and the community, to The Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders on Thursday, October 26.
