PIZZERIA BOCCE NAMED THIRD-BEST PIZZA RESTAURANT IN ARIZONA, 68TH IN UNITED STATES & CANADA, BY YELP

COTTONWOOD, Arizona: ​The Haunted Group hospitality group, known for putting Cottonwood and Jerome "on the map" as Northern Arizona tourism destinations, announces that Pizzeria Bocce in Old Town Cottonwood has been named third-best pizza restaurant in Arizona and 68th in the United States and Canada by Yelp.

Yelp released a list of the top 100 pizza spots in the U.S. and Canada in late January. Yelp identified businesses in the pizza category, then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews.

"We searched all through the US and Canada to find the best spots to savor a slice, whether you prefer thin-crust or deep-dish, red or white sauce, dozens of toppings or just a dusting of cheese," says Yelp.

Pizzeria Bocce placed 68th on the list, and third in Arizona.

Opened in 2013, Pizzeria Bocce quickly became a must-visit destination in Old Town Cottonwood. Co-owner of The Haunted Group and Executive Chef, Michelle Jurisin, crafted Bocce's menu to reflect the culinary passion that she developed while cooking traditional Italian food with her grandmother as a child. Already an expert chef who studied under one of Italy's most respected culinary artists, James Beard award-winner Celestine, Chef Michelle still left no stone unturned in her quest to bring authentic pizza Cottonwood. She traveled to Naples, Italy, to become certified in the art of pizza by Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, AVPN. Thus, Pizzeria Bocce was born!

Pizzeria Bocce exclusively uses fresh, hand-selected ingredients, many of which are imported from Italy. Bocce crust is made with Caputo Flour and every crust is hand-kneaded in traditional fashion until it reaches just the right consistency. It is then topped with mozzarella, which is made fresh at Bocce daily and hand-stretched to perfection. Fresh toppings are added before each pizza bakes in a wood-burning stove, just the way it has been done in Naples, the birthplace of pizza, for over 300 years. Antipasti, salads, paninis, and craft cocktails round out Pizzeria Bocce's menu.

In 2021, Pizzeria Bocce expanded to include STRADA @ Bocce, a unique venue located next door to Pizzeria Bocce. STRADA evokes a "food truck" vibe, inviting guests to order cocktails and beverages from one container, then small bites, pizza, and gelato from another. Constructed from eight shipping containers and brought to life with industrial details such as steel beams, Edison bulb string lights, and a corrugated sheet metal roof, STRADA brings a venue that is both a work of art and a destination to Old Town Cottonwood.
