The markilux 900 wins the "Red Dot: Best of the Best"

Top quality design has been a markilux trademark for many years already and something for which the awning specialist has already received numerous awards. This year, the company has once again been delighted to receive another seal of approval. Because its new wedge-in awning for balconies, the markilux 900, has been awarded the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" in the category: "Product Design".

Elegant design, advanced technology and durable materials play a central role at markilux for every product that leaves the company's R&D department. As a result, the awning manufacturer regularly wins internationally recognised design awards.

The new balcony awning markilux 900 has recently received a very special award. The awning features folding arms as well as an elegant full cassette, and is easy to install using two wedge-in posts and just as easy to dismantle again. It also provides plenty of shade even when installed at a low pitch as well as ensuring a clear outdoor view. The model was awarded the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" in the category "Product Design" for its successful combination of attractive shape and easy-to-install, convenient technology.

Continually reinventing products is always worthwhile

It is the highest honour in the seal of quality. This qualified the awning as a product with pioneering design and outstanding quality. And this is why the jury awarded the awning 99 out of a maximum of 100 "Red Winner Points". "That is an unbelievably great result for markilux, because only the very best products in each category receive this seal of quality from the world's largest design competition," says an overjoyed Michael Gerling, Director of R&D and Production at markilux. It shows that it is worthwhile equipping awnings with new and surprising functions year on year and giving them a fresh attractive appearance at the same time, as is the case with the markilux 900. This is because the design of this balcony awning is completely new to the market. The markilux R&D team will collect their coveted design award at the end of June at the Aalto Theatre in Essen.
