Robert Babicz

FOEM, a netlabel and talent pool, is hosting an international remix contest with the scene-icon Robert Babicz, aka Rob Acid. Among many other prizes, there is the chance to be featured on Rob’s newest record for the label tanzbar|musik. Entries are welcomed from any talented producer. The contest is running from 1.11.2007 until 31.1.2008 on the FOEM website: http://foem.info

Rob Acid has been a world wide symbol for Acid Techno since the early 90s. Numerous releases and chart hits have made him into a part of music history. Recently he has become more and more influenced by other styles. From analogue projects to House – under the name Robert Babicz, the Cologne-based musician has been producing Techhouse for many years.

The track to be remixed – “Basic” is, as yet, unreleased. The record will appear on tanzbar|musik in spring 2008, with the winning remix(es) included. tanzbar|musik is the Techhouse and Minimal Subdivision of kostbar|musik, a fresh and new label that has already been widely praised for its previous releases.

Further prizes have been created with help from the big international DJ community www.livesets.com, Berlin based Native Instruments, the Swedish Audiorealism software labs and Peace Love Production from Chicago. There is a Rob Acid mastering, a DJ-set broadcast on Livesets.com radio, kostbar|clothing, as well as Drumcomputer and 303 Software to be won. Native Instruments have also donated a software synthesizer known as MASSIVE. And some sample packs from the Peace Love Productions sound designers are waiting as well.
