Press release from: Model Engineering Solutions GmbH

Tackling the Challenges of Automotive Software Engineering in Transition to Smart Mobility

Berlin (Germany), March 23, 2015: Model Engineering Solutions GmbH (MES) and the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) will be organizing this year’s Automotive Software Engineering Workshop of the German Informatics Society (GI), which will be held at the BTU in Cottbus on September 29, 2015. The call for papers has already begun and contributions can be submitted until April 20.

The discussion of how to best implement new functions for vehicles embedded into the environment, while observing existing quality requirements is an important one. At MES, for example, we keep up-to-date with cutting-edge industry knowledge in order to incorporate this when developing our own software tools. Current trends in academic research coupled with requirements from the industry can thus be included in our software development, strengthening our lead in the field.
The workshop is an established platform for exchange between academic research and industry practice. It is aimed at researchers, developers, and users from the automotive industry, as well as scientists from research institutes and universities that work in the field of automotive software engineering.

Contributions discussing challenges and solutions in automotive software engineering in transition to smart mobility are welcome from all areas of software development for cars and trucks. Example topics include:
Architectures, interfaces, and technologies for in-vehicle networking
Architectures and methods for the development of driver assistance and autonomous driving functions
In-vehicle apps
Development processes for software in the car
Quality assurance and analysis of functional and non-functional properties
Integration of advanced environmental sensors based on maps or infrastructure data
