MES Test Manager: The reliable model test manager

MES Test Manager: The reliable model test manager

Automation of test processes

The ever-increasing complexity of development projects combined with increasing demands on quality make intelligent, automated test processes indispensable. As a result, safety standards explicitly demand the requirements-based testing of software. This still remains a challenge for vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers, because the manual verification of test results and their comparison with software requirements is a time-intensive and error-prone task. To solve this problem, Model Engineering Solutions (MES) has developed the Assessment Framework as an integral part of its MES Test Manager® (MTest). MTest is used by leading manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive sector to safeguard their software models – for example, for ASIL-D-relevant systems such as electronic braking or active steering. MTest is based on Simulink® and is optimized for series implementation of TargetLink® and Embedded Coder®.

A system for increasing safety

The assessment framework in the latest Version 2.8 offers automated and systematic assessment of test results. Every requirement of the software under development can thus be safeguarded through an assessment as to whether it has been correctly implemented in the model and the software as a whole. Moreover, adherence to all functional requirements can be verified at once. This completely new approach enables considerably higher test coverage and eliminates contradictory requirements from the start. Potential errors are thereby avoided from the earliest possible stage.

Invitation to our webinar: The intelligent way of automating your model tests: Assessments with MES Test Manager®

MES is holding a free, in-depth webinar on test management in model-based software development using a practical example. The webinar is open to existing users and all other interested parties. The focus of the webinar will be on the automated assessment functionality available from Version 2.8. There will subsequently be an opportunity to ask questions. The webinar will be held in English on two separate dates: on June 24, 2014 from 16.00-17.00 CET and on June 25, 2014 from 10.00-11.00 CET.
