New location enhances brand visibility

Awning manufacturer markilux has been present in Australia with its own showroom for around 13 years. And now it has moved to a new address. It is still located in Brookvale, a suburb of Sydney. But at its new location, the brand is now more visible to end customers and the company expects this to lead to more growth.

Along with its German flagship stores, markilux also has a number of showrooms abroad. One of them is about 16 kilometres north east of Sydney, in Brookvale. The German brand has had premises in Australia for around 13 years already. To further advance growth 'down under', the company has moved into new premises in Brookvale.

markilux expects more walk-in customers
"The new showroom can now be clearly seen from Pittwater Road - not far from where out last showroom was. This busy road connects the suburb with the Sydney metropolis," explains Peer Cornelßen, Head of International Sales. The company is expecting the new location to generate ideal conditions for the brand to become better known because it is more easily accessible to end consumers and, above all, is clearly visible. And there are more parking spaces. The company therefore expects a greater number of walk-in customers and more intense use of the showroom, which is also used for training purposes. Measuring around 80 square metres, it is about the same size as the previous showroom. But there is now a further 50 square metres of outdoor space that markilux wants to use to showcase its large-area shading products.

Showrooms are important calling cards for the brand
"We have an attractive selection of folding-arm awnings, our 'pergola classic', the underglass awning 879, various vertical roller blinds as well as side screens that act as protection against the weather and prying eyes. And then we have, for example, our 'pergola stretch' which we need to display outside," says Mr Cornelßen. After all, large sun protection systems are also in demand abroad. He explains that just recently markilux was able to complete a large project at a vineyard near Sydney and is of the opinion that Brookvale is very suitable for marketing products for large outdoor areas in addition to classic awning systems as the area has become an attractive location for stores, restaurants and breweries over the last ten years. "In addition to qualified specialist partners, the choice of location for our showrooms is a decisive criterion for drawing customers' attention to our brand. Therefore, we will continue to invest in this important al fresco calling card for us in the future, not only at home but also abroad," says Peer Cornelßen of the company's aims.
