You don't buy an awning every day. And because it's likely to be part of your house for a good number of years once purchased, it should fit in perfectly. So before you actually buy one, it's a good idea to think hard about what exactly you expect from your new solar protection product.

He knows what counts when you are buying a new awning: "The first thing you have to do when you are looking for the right product is decide how big your solar protection should be. This is a good way of actually limiting the number of possibilities. Because not every model can accommodate every width." For very deep patios or balconies, you also need an awning with a large projection. The orientation is also important when it comes to buying an awning: an additional drop valance blind could well be useful if you are likely to be affected by the blinding light of a low-lying sun, for example. And Klaus Wuchner also advises anyone interested in spending a few hours outside in the evening to think about lighting options and heaters when buying.

Getting good advice from the experts
The awning expert recommends getting advice from a specialist dealer at an early stage. Dealers will help customers make the right choice and can judge whether installation is feasible in the desired location. As a rule, however, a suitable solution can be found for every situation. Information on the design of the house, the colour of doors, windows and garden furniture is helpful. The dealer uses this information to find the perfect match in terms of frame and cover colour. It is also advisable to have fabric samples sent to you so you can ensure that the colour, quality and properties of the awning fabric meet your personal expectations. "Our Augmented Reality App is really helpful in this regard. You can use it to see what different awnings and solar protection fabrics look like on the wall of your own home," Klaus Wuchner explains. If you have done your 'homework' properly, you are bound to find a model that you like and will enjoy for a long time to come.
