Press release from: HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH

The HEUFT moCheck identifies remains in empty moulds precisely.

Detecting safety and quality defects during the production and packaging of confectionery and rejecting the products in question in time: this is even more reliable now with the three X-ray systems which HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH will be presenting on Stand C-069 in Hall 10.1 of the ProSweets COLOGNE 2013 exhibition due to image processing of the latest generation and many other current improvements. In addition HEUFT will be showing optical systems for inspecting empty moulds and verifying codes.

The unique, particularly low-radiation, pulsed X-ray technology from HEUFT already achieves an impressive detection accuracy when inspecting confectionery. The new HEUFT reflexx² high-performance image processing system significantly increases this again. Whether in bars of chocolate, filled thermoform packaging, pouches, flow packs, jam jars or in a paste-like product mass yet to be packaged: foreign objects and other safety and quality defects are therefore identified even more reliably now by the HEUFT eXaminer XB top-down inspector, the hygiene-optimised HEUFT eXaminer XAC full container inspector and the HEUFT eXaminer XT pipeline inspector.

The in-house developed hardware and software transfers, combines and analyses a variety of detection pictures even faster and provides a distinct advantage in computing power, resolution, colour depth and contrast. Integrated filter and evaluation masks clearly distinguish between cosmetic defects and real risks to the product quality. This minimises the false rejection rate. The power consumption of the HEUFT reflexx² image processing has also been drastically reduced compared with the previous version.

HEUFT will also be showing two fully developed optical inspection systems for increased safety and quality during the production of confectionery with the HEUFT moCheck which detects product residue in empty moulds used for the production of chocolate, chocolates, fondants and sweets and the HEUFT VX OCR which verifies 2D codes and barcodes.
