Goodera curated volunteering activities focusing on eliminating violence against women, collaborating with its partners.

Goodera runs its campaign for International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women, #OrangeTheWorld, to bring together individuals, corporates, and nonprofit organizations with a common objective of raising awareness that violence against women is a human rights abuse and that society as a whole should come together to make it more inclusive and safe for women.

Every year, November 25th is celebrated as International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women. According to World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 3 women have experienced sexual, physical, or emotional abuse. During the pandemic, the general trend showed an increase in abuse. In developing and under-developed countries, most of the cases go undocumented even in developed countries such as The United States. The threat to safety for women has continued to be a prevalent factor that disrupts their physical, emotional, social, and overall well-being.

The campaign #OrangeTheWorld- End Violence Against Women Now, enables employee volunteers from Goodera’s list of corporate clients to choose from Goodera’s curated volunteering experiences, schedule a time that works for them, and volunteer for the cause of their interest to bring about a positive change in the society.

“When people feel that one part of the population is stronger than the other, or one part of the population needs to control the other half of them, that's when there are problems. Especially when that control is unhealthy and when that control doesn't allow the others to grow” says Nilda Valmores, Director, My Sister’s House.

As part of the initiative, Goodera partnered with 20 nonprofits that work to raise awareness around mental health issues across the globe to:

- Design 14 different virtual volunteering opportunities for corporate volunteers. These experiences ranged from writing letters of affirmation for women survivors of physical assault to designing pamphlets to highlight the perils of gender-based violence
- Raise voices of the nonprofits and their cause. Team Goodera got into candid conversations with the Nonprofits through exclusive interviews and panel discussions to highlight the issues and derive solutions. The interviews are featured on Goodera’s website.

All 20 of Goodera’s nonprofit partners received immense support from Goodera’s clientele with 48 volunteer hours booked within a week of launching the campaign. Ten out of the twenty nonprofits were able to raise a total of $40,000, as part of the Dollars for Doers Program.

“I believe everybody has dreams and hopes. Hopefully, someone out there will help us reach our goal to have a safe platform for women. And hopefully, the universe hears me.” says Nor A Nasib, Secretary, Amal Women’s Association.

Encouraged by the success of the #OrangeTheWorld campaign, Goodera has already launched its portfolio of events for corporations for December to focus on World AIDS Day and celebrate International Human Rights Day.
