Goodera runs its #BeatingAIDS campaign in partnership with global nonprofits to support the people having AIDS.

In early December, Goodera launched its global campaign for AIDS, #BeatingAIDS - End the inequalities that drive AIDS - to bring together individuals, nonprofits, and corporations, helping people with AIDS sustain a better life. Through virtual volunteering initiatives and discussions with leading nonprofit leaders and philanthropists, Goodera brought light to the most pressing concerns of people with AIDS.

To celebrate and promote literacy throughout December, Goodera partnered with 3 nonprofits working to address literacy across the globe to:

- Design 10 virtual volunteering opportunities for corporate volunteers. These experiences range from creating virtual banners to improving this disease's understanding and becoming more inclusive. It also included building an employability kit for people with AIDS.

- Raise voices of the nonprofits and their cause. Goodera interacted with nonprofits through exclusive interviews and panel discussions to highlight the taboos prevailing in our society related to AIDS. The discussions are featured on Goodera’s platforms.

“We encourage folks to find their local HIV/AIDS-serving organization and join those efforts by contributing funding and time to further the work. Workaround HIV/AIDS should be led by folks who are impacted by HIV/AIDS, and we encourage folks to join these efforts in solidarity and listen to the needs of your community and loved ones who are impacted by HIV/AIDS,” says Dusty Ginner, Director of Communications and Development, Black and Pink National. “In addition to that work, we encourage folks to engage in destigmatizing HIV/AIDS by sharing accurate information with your friends and busting stigma when people in your life express stigmatizing sentiments around HIV/AIDS.”

The campaign #BeatingAIDS enabled corporate volunteers to choose from Goodera’s list of curated experiences, schedule selected experiences for a time that works for their teams, and volunteer to make an impact.

Over 50% of these nonprofits had 35 volunteers participating for the next month. Two-third of them have surpassed their funding expectation and raised six figures under 3 weeks of virtual volunteering activities through the Dollars of Doers program.

“More and more people need to get involved because each of us requires some form of support no matter who we are. Be a violence survivor, HIV-positive, or a cancer patient, we all need a shoulder or a hand. It can be the hand with a massive check or someone who just mowed the garden. People need to carry on educating themselves.” says Nicole Yang, Founder, The Harmony Home.

We should work more with other nonprofits to beat this stigma and discrimination against HIV and AIDS. We should get more public awareness on the internet, mainly because the younger generations get more access to the internet than the traditional media.

Encouraged by the success of the #BeatingAIDS campaign in developing crucial dialogues on AIDS and the importance of HIV education, Goodera has launched its portfolio of events for January to focus on MLK Day and International Day of Education.
