Goodera enables corporate teams to volunteer for global nonprofits as part of its International Day of the Girl Child Campaign, #MakingSheroes

Goodera partners with nonprofits focusing on girl child welfare, to encourage corporate volunteers to start early and impact many.
To celebrate and show solidarity to further the cause of girl child, throughout October, Goodera partnered with 110 nonprofits working to address this issue across the globe to:
- Design 10 virtual volunteering opportunities for corporate volunteers. These experiences range from narrating stories for children to inspiring young girls to continue learning.
- Raise voices of the nonprofits and their cause. Goodera interacted with nonprofits through exclusive interviews and panel discussions to highlight critical literacy-related issues and derive a solution. The discussions are featured on Goodera’s platforms.
“Millions of our girls are being denied every single day of education because they are exploited, they’re discriminated against or just ignored, and because they are girls. So it's these types of facts that matter to burst those myths and to bring a solution to the problem of gender violence.” says, Co-founder, Kaprece James, Founder, Stella’s Girls. “Learning to empower our youth motivates them to make changes, so the little bit of time that you take out of your busy day. It can be an hour, sometimes it can be two hours a month but the smile you may bring to a child that may not have that encouragement, it just changes the total outlook for them.”
The campaign #MakingSheroes enabled corporate volunteers to choose from Goodera’s list of curated experiences, schedule selected experiences for a time that works for their teams, and volunteer to make an impact.
Over 100 nonprofits booked 48 hours of volunteer participation with 5 fortune 500 companies. Moreover, 80% of these nonprofits raised a total of $50,000 in just under 3 months through the Dollars of Doers program, by engaging 3,500 volunteers.
“Just reflect back on when you were a little girl, and how you needed an outlet, or how you needed a safe space to be able to share, or how you needed to push towards your purpose. And so these young girls, they are so valuable, and they are so worthy of the investment of time, and the commitment of volunteerism” says Marguritte S. Johnson, Executive Director, Stand4Sisterhood.
With girl empowerment being one of the most important gateways by which society can ensure a brighter future for all of us, it becomes the utmost priority of all the institutions to diligently work towards providing girls with resources.
Encouraged by the success of the #MakingSheroes campaign in developing crucial dialogues on girl child empowerment and access to education, Goodera has launched its portfolio of events for November to focus on World Toilet Day, fight for the elimination of violence against women, and celebrate World Children’s Day and honor the military veteran’s on Veteran’s Day.
