Temporomandibular joint TMJ Arthroscopy, allows Prof. Dr. Luis Gavin, to see inside your mouth jaw joint (TMJ) using a camera inserted through your skin without any cut.

What is TMJ arthroscopy?

What are the benefits?
For those suffering jaw pain, tinnitus, ear pain, constant headaches and having a bad sleep.
The aim is to confirm exactly what the TMJ problem and treat it at the same time in only one hour hospital wise under moderate sedation without any medical risks.
How soon will I recover?
The swelling and discomfort are usually at its worst for the first few hours.
It is important to keep the joint moving. Your surgeon will give you stretching exercises to do to help improve how your mouth opens.

During arthroscopic surgery, the surgeon may:
• Remove scar tissue and thickened cartilage.

• Tighten the joint to limit movement.
• Flush (lavage) the joint.
• Insert an anti-inflammatory medicine.
