Customers choose to use Waste King - the environmentally-friendly specialist collections, clearance and recycling company – primarily because of its environmental friendliness in guaranteeing to recycle at least 85 per cent of all the waste that Waste King collects. In reality, the figure is now over 90 per cent.

A recent survey of Waste King’s customers rated the company’s environmental friendliness marginally ahead of its professionalism. Efficiency and overall value for money were other key reasons given for using Waste King’s services.

Waste King’s managing director, Glenn Currie, commented: “It’s encouraging to find that customers understand Waste King’s operating ethos. Top of the list of ten characteristics about Waste King’s service were that ‘it’s environmentally friendly because it segregates all the waste’ and ‘it’s easier than the alternatives’.

“It was interesting to see that the third most popular characteristic with our customers is that Waste King’s service is cheaper than the alternatives,” he added. “It was also nice to see that many customers said that they felt that Waste King has their best interests at heart.”

Joint fourth on this list of characteristics were that the Waste King service is efficient and that its operatives are polite, friendly and helpful.

The survey was carried out at the end of 2011 and asked 50 Waste King customers, drawn from ‘private’ (as opposed to commercial) customers, to rate the characteristics that best described their experience of Waste King’s service. Respondents were further asked to rate the quality of Waste King’s service with regard to environmental friendliness, professionalism, efficiency and value for money.

“From time to time, Waste King carries out surveys of customer satisfaction but this was the first survey that asked customers to rate the quality of the Waste King service,” Currie explained.

“As a relatively young business – only some five years old – it’s encouraging that customers are already strongly associating our brand with environmental friendliness, professionalism, efficiency and value for money.”

Waste King provides a wide range of waste collection and recycling services for both domestic and commercial clients including house clearances, office clearance, shop refurbishments, general rubbish removal, garden & garage clearance, wait & load and skip hire, as well as services to companies in the fields of property management and maintenance; interior design; specialist renovation, and general construction.

For its commercial clients, Waste King provides recycling and waste collection services including waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) collections and site waste management plans (SWMP). The company also offers confidential document destruction.
