Remote monitoring of house and building technology
In building services engineering, status and error messages are signalled via I/O contacts. Existing heating, ventilation, cooling and air conditioning systems report the current operating status via I/O contacts. In addition to maintenance messages, important error and fault messages are also transmitted via the I/O switching contacts available on the systems. These important status messages must be reliably transmitted to the building management software and also to the responsible facility managers and technicians. It is impossible to imagine what happens if the refrigeration and air-conditioning technology in rooms and systems that are important to the company fails unnoticed.Important technical and server rooms must be permanently air-conditioned. If the IT systems there are not sufficiently cooled, expensive hardware damage can result. If a mission-critical server fails due to heat, the employees can no longer work. Especially in times of the Covid 19 virus, employees in the home office are urgently dependent on functioning remote desktop connections.
Control I/O contacts via network or Internet
The supplier of TCP/IP based measurement and monitoring technology, the Münster-based company Didactum Security GmbH, offers tried and tested solutions for the Ethernet connection of I/O contacts. Already with the Topseller Monitoring System 100 of the brand Didactum, up to 4 signalling contacts of in the building existing power supply and network backup systems, emergency diesel, UPS, ventilation or air conditioning systems can be reliably monitored. These I/O contacts, also called potential-free contacts, are monitored by the Didactum Monitoring System 100 in real time. By connecting an optional extension unit, up to 64 additional fault alarm contacts can be remotely monitored around the clock via the TCP/IP network or Internet.
It is an advantage that the Monitoring System 100 works independently of other hardware or software. Access to the German user interface is very easy via the web browser of the smartphone, tablet, PC or laptop. Each potential-free contact connected to the monitoring device is configured via the web browser. An individual designation can be assigned to each I/O contact in the web interface (e.g. fault indicator air conditioner etc.). The user then defines the normal state of the switching contact / relay contact (normally open / normally closed).
Immediate notification and alarm in case of problems
Faults in the installations and systems of building services engineering connected to the Monitoring System 100 are forwarded in the form of e-mail and/or SMS (via LTE / GSM modem or e-mail to SMS gateway) to the facility management or to the external service provider. The content of the notification or alarm can be defined individually. If SNMP-compatible building management software is used, the Ethernet-based Monitoring System 100 can also transmit the messages in the form of SNMP traps.
Integrated relays can be switched manually or rule-based, so that, for example, a redundant refrigeration or air conditioning system can be remotely switched. At the same time, all switching states of the fault message contacts are clearly displayed in the German-language web interface. All events that have occurred, including date and time information, are logged in the Eventlog database.
Further important information on the important topic of Ethernet connection of plants and systems of building services engineering is available at https://www.didactum-security.com. Companies and public authorities can order the field-tested measuring and monitoring technology conveniently on account (credit assessment reserved).

Temperature Monitoring with IP-Thermometer
In many rooms, such as laboratories, server rooms, data centers, warehouses and many other areas, it is important that the temperature is constantly within the specified range. Deviations must not be tolerated in temperature-sensitive environments, otherwise important equipment, goods, medicines or vaccines can be damaged.
To monitor the temperature in a simple and reliable way without having to perform constant manual checks, so-called IP thermometers have been developed. IP thermometers, also…

Smoke detectors for IT & serverroom
The IT and server room is one of the most important areas in a company. In most companies nothing works without the IT systems that are indispensable nowadays. If important IT systems fail, the employees often can no longer work.
As administrators and IT decision-makers know, every unplanned IT failure usually costs a lot of money. To protect IT systems from risks, anti-virus software, firewall and backup solutions are used. According…

Remote Monitoring of important rooms and systems
Production, storage, laboratory, technical and server rooms located in remote locations must never be left unobserved. Heating, ventilation, refrigeration or air conditioning systems in a branch office can also fail and cause considerable problems. The equipment and systems located in telecommunications, technical, server and laboratory rooms can be damaged very quickly at critical temperatures. If the temperature in the server cabinet reaches a critical level, hard disks can fail. In…
