Press release from: GOEPEL electronics Ltd.

Communication controller series PCI/PXI 6191

Communication controller series PCI/PXI 6191

The recently introduced communication controller series PCI/PXI 6191 from GOEPEL electronic suits perfectly for the parallel test of ECUs (electronic control units) in end-of-line test systems, and specific tasks in testing network characteristics and integration utilities. To enhance their performance, they can be upgraded by up to two dual channel FlexRay interfaces.

Both FlexRay nodes are cold-start capable. In addition to starting a FlexRay cluster, the functional range includes cyclical and event based sending of messages. The interface module’s firmware provides an automatic CRC checksum calculation as well as generation of “alive counters” and “ramp functions”.

The AUTOSAR network management and the transport protocol generation compliant with ISO 10681-2 and AUTOSAR FlexRay-TP are also supported. The firmware features a USD protocol to execute diagnostic services. Data traffic on the FlexRay bus is recorded by a monitoring function that time-stamps send/ receive messages with a resolution of 1 µs.

GOEPEL electronic offers its FlexRay controller 6191 as PCI/PXI plug in module as well as a stand-alone box supporting both USB 2.0 and GBit Ethernet. In additional to FlexRay nodes, there are analogue and digital I/O resources which can be synchronized with the communication interfaces The opportunity to upgrade the module by additional communication interfaces (CAN, LIN/K-Line) predestines the interface module in particular for gateway functions at ECUs and within the vehicle networking.
