The double pole version of the contactor from the CT1000 series is suited for use in photovoltaic systems

Munich, 21/03/2011: Schaltbau GmbH will be making its debut appearance at Intersolar (8 - 10 June 2011) at this year’s show in Munich, where the company will be exhibiting DC contactors, snap-action switches and connectors. These products are used in photovoltaic systems, wind turbines and in smart grid systems. The most important exhibit will be the CT1000 contactor series. The double pole version of this isolating contactor is ideally suited as a load break switch for use in photovoltaic systems. Further information will be available directly at our stand in hall C3.512, or can be found online at www.schaltbau-gmbh.com.
For decades, Schaltbau has been developing and producing DC contactors primarily for use in railway equipment. This experience enables the company to develop customised load break switches. Accordingly, the CT1000 contactor series was originally developed for railway applications and has now been adapted to the specific requirements for use in photovoltaic systems, where the contactor disconnects the inverter from the solar panels. It satisfies the most important standards of the solar industry. Contactors with a load break function provide a reliable and versatile alternative to manually operated load break switches. Furthermore, they meet the more stringent requirements on current and voltage, where manually operated load break switches reach their limits. The product range is augmented by connectors and snap-action switches. The connectors of the LV and DN series are used in smart grid systems, where they are incorporated in battery banks and charging devices. The snap-action switches with positive opening operation are installed in gear limit switches for wind turbines.

“Connect – Contact – Control,” is the motto under which Schaltbau GmbH develops and manufactures electromechanical components for railway equipment and industrial applications. Founded in 1929, the company has nine locations of its own and more than 50 sales partners worldwide. Subsidiaries in France, England, the USA, China, India and other countries emphasise the company’s international orientation. The product portfolio includes connectors, snap-action switches, contactors, and command and messaging devices. The company carries out development both for specific orders and for series production. Its products are distinguished by their high quality, exceptional reliability and long lifetime. The Schaltbau GmbH quality management system is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001, and its ecological management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001. Since 2008, the company has been certified as a Q1 Supplier for the Deutsche Bahn (German state railways). In October 2008, the Velden and Aldersbach plants were quality-certified according to IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard).
