Press release from: Countrywide

Countrywide, the UK's largest letting agent and property services Group, is continuing its expansion plans with the purchase of North East specialist letting agents Property Quarters.
Property Quarters is a long established brand that has been operating in the North East for over 33 years through its flagship branches in North Shields and Whitby Bay.
Margaret Longden, Co-Managing Director said: "Property Quarters has always impressed us and we're proud to have their team onboard. This acquisition complements our ongoing growth plans in the North East through both acquisition and organic growth to increase our lettings footprint and client reach. Across the UK we have opened 70 lettings offices in the last seven months and we will look to continue this throughout the year."
James and Maureen Lackie launched Property Quarters in 1978 and it has quickly grown to employ 9 members of staff who will play a crucial part in growing Property Quarters over the coming years.
James and Maureen have retired from the business which will continue to trade as Property Quarters and managed by its long standing, experienced team of sales and operations staff. Both branches will be supported by Countrywide's sales, online, training and management teams, which will be led by Richard Coxon, Area Director for the North East and Yorkshire.
Countrywide has a strong history of acquiring local letting agencies and portfolios, which have grown through Countrywide's extensive network of support and investment. Recent acquisitions include Accord Lets in Birmingham and Royal Leamington Spa and The Letmore Group, which operates six offices in Essex and East London.
Margaret added: "The success of Property Quarters is down to the drive and the tenacity of James and Maureen Lackie, who have developed a brilliant team of staff and grown the business to become a leading name for lettings in the area. By continuing to trade as Property Quarters, we will harness the strength of their local expertise that has enabled the business to grow an impressive rental portfolio.
"I would like to take this opportunity to wish James and Maureen all the best for their retirement and I'm looking forward to seeing how Countrywide's fresh investment can develop the impressive business that they have worked so hard to build."
