GUIdancer 4.0 released

04-14-2010 10:32 AM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: Bredex GmbH

The GUIdancer team at BREDEX GmbH is pleased to announce the release of version 4.0 of their award-winning automated functional testing tool. Version 4.0 of the cross-platform tool offers browser-independent HTML testing alongside the previous Swing, SWT/RCP and GEF support. The new version also contains improved reporting features to track quality in projects and the option to test multiple applications during one test. GUIdancer won the Eclipse Award for best commercial developer tool at EclipseCon 2010 and the new version will be showcased at the Iqnite conference at the end of April in Düsseldorf. GUIdancer 4.0 is available for download on the GUIdancer website.

GUIdancer’s efficient, code-free approach to automated functional testing has been extended to HTML applications which run on Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. The new developments bring the benefits of the keyword-driven method to the testing of cross-platform and browser-independent web applications alongside the previously supported Swing, SWT/RCP, and GEF applications. With the GUIdancer library of test actions, automated functional testing is easy yet robust: the good practices of software development such as modularity and powerful reusability are available to GUIdancer testers without any programming effort.

A new reporting perspective in GUIdancer makes it easier to see information about test progress within a project. BIRT reports can be generated from the test results to gain an overview about the overall quality. The new reporting perspective benefits testers by allowing them to gain a quick overview of daily test results, while the full HTML reports provide detailed information about any errors that occurred. For quality managers, the BIRT reports offer the ability to display and monitor quality statistics over longer periods of time for the whole project.

GUIdancer 4.0 can be downloaded from the GUIdancer website. Demo-Licenses are available to evaluate the software and free live-demos are available on request. Visitors to the Iqnite Conference in Düsseldorf (27th-30th April) will be able to receive a face-to-face demo of the new version.
