GUIdancer and Jubula now integrate with ALM tools

10-18-2013 06:32 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: Bredex GmbH

The free automated GUI test tools, GUIdancer and Jubula, now integrate with application lifecycle management (ALM) tools such as Jira and Bugzilla. In version 7.2, released on October 17th, test results can automatically be reported to external systems. This allows project members to view test results and their status directly from their ALM tool. The new versions can be downloaded from the BREDEX testing portal at http://testing.bredex.de.

“The new options for reporting test results to ALM tools provide better integration between automated tests and the development process as a whole,” said Achim Lörke, Project Lead. “Previous versions of GUIdancer and Jubula already offered various options to analyze test results and provide long- and short-term quality reports, but these were firmly anchored within the tool. Now test results can easily and quickly be made transparent for the whole team – and their effect on issue or release status can be tracked more comfortably.”

In version 7.2, testers can link an external ALM system to their project and then link individual test cases or test suites to tasks or tickets. Once a test has run, the test results are added to the relevant task. As well as seeing the test status, project members can also open the full test result report in a web dashboard. The integration between ALM systems and the GUIdancer and Jubula clients is made possible with to the Eclipse Mylyn project and Tasktop Dev, which provide connectors for various application lifecycle management tools.

“This is just the first step in a wider integration with ALM tools,” continued Achim. “We are looking forward to the feedback from the community and to further developments in this area.”
