Banasthali Celebrates 51st Engineers’ Day with Zinnov, IBM, Smart City Projects Experts Sharing Thoughts

September 15 is celebrated every year in the country since 1967 as “Engineers’ Day” to commemorate the birthday of the legendary engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya popularly known as Sir MV and the theme for 2018 is “Digital Transformation - A New Industrial Revolution” at Nav Mandir Auditorium of Banasthali.

On 15 September 2018, Innovative Chemical Engineers’ ICE Club President Miss Sakshi Bajania welcomed the august gathering at the elegant Nav Mandir auditorium. Miss Pragati Sharma anchored the entire proceedings and invited Prof Himadri Ghosh Director School of Design, Prof Jaya Dwivedi Dean School of Life Sciences to trigger the celebrations with an innovative e Lamp Lighting.

Zinnov a global management & strategy consulting firm with core expertise in globalization, product engineering advisory & digital transformation services has been consistently ranked amongst the top 20 outsourcing advisory firms for 10 years in a row by IAOP - International Association of Outsourcing Professionals. ISB Alumnus Mr Sidhant Rastogi Director Zinnov took time from his hectic schedule to address the students of Banasthali on Engineers Day and gave an overview of the theme highlighting the strategic approach and challenges ahead.

Banasthali alumnus Ms Shraboni Sen presently Large Deals Sales Specialist & Associate Partner IBM Mumbai and Proud Banasthalite Ms Deepika Sharma presently Data Scientist Smart City Projects also shared thoughts on the theme. Shraboni had done her MCA from Banasthali and her expertise include Extensive IT and Consulting experience of 20+ years spanning across large deal sales, account management, strategic outsourcing, consulting pre-sales and project delivery. Driven by a passion to solve complex problems, Deepika had done her MSc Statistics from Banasthali and is a seasoned data scientist, well oiled mathematician and enthusiast in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Students Varnika Singh (Chemical), Shailvi Chandra ( Aviation), Aashri Chauhan (Remote Sensing), Shaifali (Design), Anusha Agarwal (Mechatronics) and Sanhita Saxena (Bio Tech) shared thoughts on the theme. Prof Himadri Ghosh Director Design School and Prof Jaya Dwivedi Dean School of Life Sciences Banasthali graced the occasion. Innovative Chemical Engineers ICE Club office bearers Vice President Bhawana Joshi, Secretary Kritika Bisht, Treasurer Yukti Dilawari coordinated the event from concept to commissioning.

Treasurer of ICE Club Aditi Tibrewal proposed vote of thanks. The students and faculty who attended the celebrations left with beaming faces and pride that they were indeed part of an institution which is a jewel in the crown among the women’s universities not only in India today but across the globe.
