The Journey Continues for BITS Pilani Alumnus Jiten Managing Director DivgiWarner Pune
Members of every major religion undertake pilgrimages and for the alumni of Birla Institute of Technology and Science - BITS Pilani which is one among the top ranking universities in India today visiting their alma mater years after their graduation, is indeed a pilgrimage and a mission with passion.Jitendra B Divgi is the Managing Director of DivigiWarner Pune, a company with a vision to be recognized as a world-class, globally oriented and innovative product leader in automotive drivetrain components and systems on whom customers rely to improve performance, durability and reliability.
Jiten is one of the very active members of the BITS Alumni Association - BITSAA Pune Chapter. From his hectic schedule he chose 07th January 2010 to visit his alma mater BITS Pilani Rajasthan where he was a student during 1980 - 1984 and obtained his B.E. (Hons) Mechanical Engineering. Jiten also happens to be the Silver Medal winner for being the second topper in the batch of hundreds of students who graduated that year from BITS Pilani.
Coming after 25 years, he went around the Institute and visited the new Library building, Lecture Theatre Complex, Computer Centre, Workshop, Oyster Lab, Animal House, Green House, Saraswati Temple, Students Activity Centre, FoodKing Sarath Babu Restaurant, Akshay, Shiv Ganga Market, etc. There was nostalgia all over when he visited the mess and Krishana Bhawan the hostel where he had stayed during his student years.
Jiten met various officers of the Institute who included Prof G Raghurama Deputy Director Academics, Prof G Sundar Dean Practice School Division, Prof Rajiv Gupta Dean Engineering Services Division, Prof Rambabu Kodali Group Leader Mechanical, Prof Arya Kumar Chief of Entrepreneurship Development & Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Prof Anil Bhat Group Leader Management.
Accompanied by Prof BR Natarajan Vice President BITSAA, Jiten also had extensive interactions with Prof RK Mittal Deputy Director Administration and President BITSAA. He also had two hours of brain storming session with a group of students drawn from various disciplines who are actively involved in Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL). Jiten Divgi profusely thanked the broad based integrated and interdisciplinary education he received at BITS Pilani for achieving his career goals and urged the students to make best use of the opportunities and flexibilities offered by the BITS System of education to remain idea-leaders among student communities at global level.
For Proud to be BITSian Jiten Divgi, his alma mater BITS Pilani is indeed close to his heart and undoubtedly the Journey Continues
