2wcom DSR01 - Digital Satellite Receiver for professional audio and RDS decoding

The Northern German DVB specialist 2wcom GmbH presents its professional DSR01 Digital Satellite Receiver with upgraded functionality.

DVB-S and DVB-S2 – the DSR01 meets the current DVB standards. In addition to these standards the DSR01 supports low symbol rates of down to 128 Ksym/s. The reduction of bandwidth, minimal booting times of 2-4 seconds and an adjustable and stable audio delay time of 10 ms to 1000 ms are only some of the excellent advantages of the 2wcom DSR01 Digital Satellite Receiver.

Especially interesting for broadcasters is the integrated RDS/UECP decoder. It enables the display and monitoring of the correct configuration of RDS parameters. The ability to monitor the audio content of up to eight programmes is an additional value. The data can be transferred to a standard pc and then listened to via a MP3 streaming client.

The 2wcom DSR01 can be remote controlled via satellite. The hereby created ability to execute switching operations, e. g. the input of temporally and locally controlled advertising is a real advantage. As a backup solution in case of satellite loss the DSR01 contains an integrated SD card, which can be supplied with external audio data via IP.

For the transfer of much larger amounts of data the 2wcom development team designed the DSR02. On top of all the advantages of the DSR01 the DSR02 features an optional Gigabit IP interface. ‘Thus our DVB product range is well equipped even for high-speed satellite transmission like IP TV, DVB-T or IP data transfer’, explains 2wcom DVB development engineer Ove Kamentz.
