2wcom has been awarded from CBC Radio-Canada to set up a FM/RDS and Monitoring network
Flensburg/Germany, 2010-12-10 – CBC Radio-Canada is Canada’s national broadcaster and provider of a comprehensive range of radio, television, internet and satellite-based services. They decided to choose all products from 2wcom Germany for setting up the new designed RDS network including monitoring.In terms of RDS distribution CBC Radio-Canada has chosen the fully dynamic RDS Encoder C02 from 2wcom. The C02 with its multiport solution offers an extremely flexible concept. Five different services can be managed by one single encoder via five independent IP-Ports (TCP or UDP). Absolutely convincing was the clear structured and comfortable handling of the RDS Encoder operating software ARCOS Config.
For the quality control of their FM/RDS distribution, CBC Radio-Canada determined the A20 FM-RDS Measuring- and Monitoring Decoder from 2wcom to be the right choice. The A20 is operating absolutely self-sufficient and if any irregularity is occurring within the network the A20 alerts and reports the problem immediately and automatically via SNMP before the audience will realize it. Improving the reliabilty of the network and gaining much more efficiency in the assignment of the maintenance staff will lower the operating cost in the long run.
