Wiha Stubby magazine bit holder awarded the red dot design award

Design award for Wiha Werkzeuge

Schonach - with its outstandingly innovative design, the Wiha Stubby magazine bit holder from Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH has been able to set itself apart in one of the most renowned and toughest international design competitions. A high calibre jury of experts from the red dot award product design 2009 awarded the Wiha Stubby magazine bit holder the "red dot" seal of quality as a recognition of high design standards. This award is given only to especially creative, innovative and qualitative products. This year a total of 3,231 products from 49 countries were entered for judging.

"Small - but wow!": A phrase that perfectly describes the Stubby magazine bit holder from Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH. With this little brother of the award-winning magazine bit holder, the long-established family company based at Schonach in Germany underlines once more that tools can have more than just a single function. Thanks to its handy, compact size, the Wiha Stubby is especially suitable for work in tight spots.

The Stubby magazine bit holder is a small, space-saving screwdriver containing a bit magazine. If the cap of the Wiha SoftFinish® multi-component handle is removed, six bits designed for all common types of fastening then become accessible. Simply select a suitable bit, insert it and begin fastening!

"Products that are successful are different to less successful products in that they are able to assert themselves in real situations," states the design expert Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the red dot design award. An award from an internationally renowned design competition such as the red dot design award is in this regard an important indication as to whether a product has the potential to assert itself on an international level.

Judging of products entered for the red dot design award is carried out by an international jury of renowned design experts. They inspect and test the products and assess them according to such criteria as level of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, service life, ecological compatibility and level of self-declaration.

Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH is a company distinguished by technically mature and user-friendly tools. Innovation, quality and reliability form the fundamental values of corporate policy. "We are not satisfied with mediocrity but are intent on only offering our customers mature and durable tools of premium quality," explains Wilfried Hahn, Managing Director of the company. Numerous awards and a current spectrum of more than 4,300 products of the highest quality substantiate his claim.
