Wiha launches sales office in Singapore
Schonach – China still offers German companies an attractive business environment, not only because of the convenient proximity to other Asian countries but in particular because of the rapid and long-ranging growth possibilities of the country itself. Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH intends to leverage this potential to an even greater level, and has opened a foreign subsidiary at the beginning of 2009 for the Asian/Pacific region. The location of the sales office is Singapore. The official inauguration took place in March and many customers paid a visit.
The tool industry belongs to the most export-intensive sectors and profits in particular from the international economic upturn. Wiha learnt early to recognise the advantages brought about by globalisation, and has expanded its sales network on a worldwide scale with the establishment of subsidiaries and branches.
Because Wiha has been successfully represented in Asia for many years, and in order to further consolidate the location, the Black Forest tool manufacturer decided in 2009 to found a sales subsidiary with German management in Singapore. "Singapore is a centrally located hub for trading, with ideal conditions for the targeted supply of the Asian/Pacific area with goods and services. Wiha in this way follows up successfully upon its growth success in Asia, and strengthens its activities in the sector in order on a long-term basis to take advantage of the ever increasing potential," reports Wilfried Hahn, Managing Director of Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH.
