SkillObject® Alignment Project for Navy SMS Moving Toward Completion
A major project involving three SkillsNET Skills Analysts working in conjunction with the Navy's Chaplain Corps is resulting in the creation of a Chaplain Corps officer skill capture strategy designed to "place the right person in the right place at the right time" through a rigorous process of SkillObject alignment, according to SkillsNET Skills Analyst Anna Safran.Safran joined fellow SkillsNET associates Ray Gonzales and Renee Sheetz in Nashville, Tennessee in February at the Chaplain Leadership Symposium, held yearly by the Navy. "We facilitated a focus group comprised of eight Captain-ranked Chaplains who served as SME's for the realignment of SkillObjects® into their new NOBC structure Safran said. "It was an excellent opportunity to work directly with an energized focus group for aligning their SkillObjects, an endeavor which will aid in the Chaplain's goal of establishing learning and training standards for chaplain career progression and to move forward with the 5VM display. The Chaplains have been the original pilot study sample for the Officer Skills Capture effort, which began approximately two years ago, and they have been selected as the 5VM Poster Child."
And the final result of the Nashville trip? "Everyone was very pleased with the process we used to align their SkillObject data into the new NOBC structure and we are looking ahead to resurveying the data to further validate the NOBC structure."
