SAP system for sparkling wine producer Schloss Wachenheim AG expanded

09-10-2008 02:58 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: BASF IT Services

Trust in BASF IT Services' expertise: The IT service provider has completed another project for its long-term client Schloss Wachenheim AG. At the beginning of July the world’s leading producer of sparkling wines put a new SAP application for finance and accounting into operation.

In 2005 BASF IT Services already installed a homogenous IT landscape for Schloss Wachenheim by introducing SAP solutions for materials management, distribution, warehouse management and production. Now the IT specialists have implemented the SAP applications for finance and accounting and integrated these applications with existing logistic processes.

In an additional sub-project BASF IT Services embedded a wine accounting program in the system. This solution documents all information connected with the wine business, from purchasing all the way to bottling. The wine producer was responsible for replacing the old wine accounting system. BASF IT Services created the interfaces between this application and the SAP system in order to ensure that the data can be transferred and further processed.
.
"We appreciate BASF IT Services as a competent partner with many years of experience in the process industry. They have always provided us with first-rate consulting on the integration of Enterprise Resource Planning solutions," says Hans Jürgen Klein, Commercial Manager at Schloss Wachenheim. "The SAP expansion enables us to utilize the complete potential of all the system's business application possibilities. At the same time it forms the basis for an extensive roll-out of the SAP system at other European corporate locations," he adds.

“Our goal is to create added value for our customers in everything that we do. More than ever, the integration of business processes is a decisive factor for success. Previously the logistical and the financial bookkeeping system had been separated at Schloss Wachenheim and only communicated with each other through interfaces. Now all applications that are crucial for the company operations are combined under one roof. This makes it possible to develop our customer’s business processes even more efficiently and, for example, evaluate company data much more easily and quickly,” Thomas Lorentz, Department Manager Financial Solutions at BASF IT Services, summarizes.
