European Project Wants to Improve Framework Conditions for Entrepreneurship and Start-ups in Key Enabling Technologies
The project will help partners analyse policy instruments applied in the context of regional innovation strategies and investigate action areas for improving or realigning policy support mechanisms designed to strengthen efficient regional innovation economies. Key topics include the expansion of KET clusters as well as cross-cluster cooperation, the promotion of technology transfer from science to industry, and in particular new concepts for the support of KET-based company foundations and start-ups.
The next project meeting and Interregional Learning Event will take place in Cologne from 5-6 July 2017. During the event partners will exchange their regional experiences and report on good practices with focus on entrepreneurship and cluster development. Proven concepts will be evaluated with respect to relevance, applicability and transferability and, in a subsequent step, integrated in regional action plans. The meeting agenda will be completed by an expert corner and a guided tour of the COPT Center for Organic Production Technologies at the University of Cologne.
The project consortium consists of seven partners out of five European regions: Tuscany/Italy, Flanders/Belgium, Norte/Portugal, Bucharest/Romania and North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). NRW is represented in the partnership by the Cluster NMWP.NRW. The project started on 1 April 2016 and has a duration of five years. NMP-REG is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRD).
