LaDàna Young Expands Media Pipelines for Underserved Youth
Operating at the intersection of media production and civic innovation, My Fairy GodParents empowers underserved youth to take control of their own narratives through the medium of cinematic storytelling and user-generated content (UGC). By establishing formal digital pipelines, the 501(c)(3) organization actively addresses critical resource gaps in underserved neighborhoods and offers sustainable, creative alternatives for youth rehabilitation, digital literacy, and long-term career development.
"Storytelling is an invaluable tool for community mentorship," said LaDàna Young, Founder of My Fairy GodParents. "By equipping our youth with modern media tools and creative freedom, we enable them to build professional portfolios and amplify critical voices that are often completely left out of traditional media landscapes."
Young, who is also the mother of acclaimed author and public speaker Anyé Young, brings a dual professional background in independent content creation and community advocacy. This background allows her to bridge youth into the rapidly evolving creative economy. The organization's upcoming initiatives will focus on hands-on video editing, storytelling structure, and digital media production to prepare participants for modern industry roles.
