The event consisted of two main divisions: domestic and international, and organized participants into seven groups by age, spanning from children aged 6 and under to senior practitioners up to 70 years old. It featured ten event categories (e.g., Beginner, Competition, Optional, and Traditional), comprising a total of 119 sub-events. The venue catered to both professional wushu athletes for intense matchups and wushu enthusiasts for exchange and performance. The participants, ranging from young children to spirited seniors, delivered spectacular performances, including spirited junior compulsory routines, fluid and agile Changquan, smooth Tai Chi moves, graceful swordplay, powerful cudgel play, and resounding armed combats, drawing waves of cheers from the audience. They fully demonstrated their passion and expertise, embodying the unique charm of Chinese wushu that transcends age and national borders.

Furthermore, the event featured group performances that were delivered by teams of 8 to 16 members in a uniform, coordinated manner, accompanied by background music. They fully showcased the spirit of teamwork and the traditional ethos of wushu, further expanding the boundaries of wushu expression.

Chinese wushu is both a means of physical fitness and a vibrant carrier for passing down Chinese culture through thousands of years. On November 5, 2025, the UNESCO resolved to designate March 21 as International Taijiquan Day - the first UN international day for a martial art. Today, Chinese wushu is reaching out to the world with a more open attitude. Through the hosting of various international competitions, China has built exchange and mutual learning platforms for wushu enthusiasts around the world.

First held in 1994, the Beijing International Wushu Invitational Tournament has been a signature international wushu event for more than 30 years and grown in scale year by year.
