In conventional PV installations, roof tiles often have to be notched, sanded, or cut with a grinder so that the roof hook can be inserted. This creates cut edges through which moisture can penetrate the tile. Especially in winter, the freeze-thaw cycle can lead to long-term damage or even the cracking of individual roof tiles.
This is exactly where the CLEVER-TILE (R) system comes in. The specially developed roof hook is precisely tailored to the CLEVER-TILE (R) replacement tile and allows for installation where the overlying roof tiles generally do not need to be modified.
The CLEVER-TILE (R) replacement tile was deliberately developed as a system solution and can only be used in conjunction with the specially shaped CLEVER-TILE (R) roof hook. Only the precisely coordinated interaction between the replacement tile and the roof hook enables the special installation geometry, which generally eliminates the need to modify the roof tiles above.
Well-thought-out design for roof-friendly installation
A key feature of the system is the special shape of the roof hook. While conventional roof hooks are usually routed upward out of the roof, the CLEVER-TILE (R) roof hook features a specific recess. This directs the load directly back into the substructure while simultaneously creating sufficient space so that the roof tiles above can be laid without any additional work.
This design results in only a small air gap equal to the thickness of the tile material. This reduces stress in the roofing material and minimizes the risk of damage.
Additionally, a valley sealing strip can be installed if needed. This further seals the area between the metal tile and the roof tile and protects against drifting snow, dirt ingress, or the entry of small animals.
High load-bearing capacity and secure load transfer
The specially developed roof hook is designed to transfer loads directly and efficiently into the roof substructure. Thanks to its sturdy construction, it can reliably withstand even high snow and wind loads.
Another advantage lies in the structural securing of the CLEVER-TILE (R) replacement tile. The system is secured against slipping and lifting and ensures a stable fit within the roof surface.
Quick and easy installation
In addition to technical functionality, the development process focused primarily on practicality. The roof hook can be positioned directly on the roof battens. Time-consuming measuring or subsequent modification of roof tiles is largely eliminated.
Thanks to its intelligent design, the roof hook automatically aligns with the existing roof battens. This significantly simplifies installation and reduces the amount of work required on the roof.
Various mounting options are available for the subsequent substructure. In addition to vertical rail mounting, parallel mounting to the roof can also be implemented. Furthermore, height adjustment allows for the precise alignment of the photovoltaic modules.
However, the specially developed CLEVER-TILE (R) roof hook is not limited exclusively to CLEVER-TILE (R) replacement tiles. Thanks to its well-thought-out design, it can generally be combined with other suitable replacement tiles as well. However, its particular advantages in terms of load transfer, ease of installation, and roof-friendly installation are best realized when used in conjunction with the CLEVER-TILE (R) system developed specifically for this purpose.
