FloraPrima plants the future: 700 trees already financed for German mixed forests

Wendeburg, March 11, 2026 - FloraPrima.de's sustainability initiative "We plant a tree for every bouquet sold" has reached a new high. In close cooperation with the non-profit organization Aktion Baum (aktion-baum.org), the leading online flower delivery service has already planted 700 trees in Germany. FloraPrima is thus sending a clear signal against forest dieback and for measurable CO2 binding right on our doorstep. The initiative, which was launched in August, transforms the joy of giving flowers into long-term ecological value. CO2 sequestration with foresight: the math behind the project Forest conservation is a generational project. To make the ecological impact of the 700 trees tangible, FloraPrima relies on transparency and scientifically based average values for German mixed forests:

The immediate effect: In their current phase as young seedlings, the 700 trees already bind around 1,050 kg (approx. 1 ton) of CO2 per year. This corresponds roughly to the amount of CO2 that an average 2-person household in Germany produces annually through electricity consumption.

The potential for the future: As the trees grow older, their storage capacity increases massively. A mature mixed forest of this size will bind around 8.75 tons of CO2 annually after around 20 to 40 years. This means that the 700 trees neutralize the entire ecological footprint of an average German citizen every year.

Long-term climate promise: Over their entire lifespan, these 700 trees are estimated to filter over 350 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere and store it permanently in the wood and forest soil.
