_Unterkrumbach, February 9, 2026_ - We've all been there. Suddenly, there it is: the cabinet that's "actually still in good condition" or the sofa that "will be needed again someday." At Moebelmachern, run by Herwig and Ute Danzer, that "someday" has now become "now or never": Under the motto "ueBRIGES" (meaning "by the way"), the sustainability pioneers from Franconia are offering hand-picked pieces of furniture - from walnut burl desk combinations to cherry wood TV wall ensembles - at prices that even passionate upcycling fans will find astonishing, with some items even being given away for free. Why? "Because these pieces are simply too good to be stored in the basement or thrown away," explains Herwig Danzer. "ueBRIGES" is not a classic sale, but a philosophical campaign: it's about furniture with history, craftsmanship, and sometimes even celebrity charm - like the black armchair from Intertime, which the furniture makers photographed with model Kirsten Oggesen in 1991. "These pieces have accompanied our customers for years. Now they should make others happy," says Ute Danzer. Or other highlights * Walnut burl desk with cabinet wall: A unique piece for lovers of natural grains - "more valuable than money," as herwig emphasizes.

"That would be wasteful - and contrary to our philosophy," explains Danzer. There is also a political statement behind "ueBRIGES": "The furniture industry is not having an easy time of it at the moment. We are showing how sustainability works - without greenwashing."

The company was founded in 1988 in Hersbruck near Nuremberg as a holistically oriented furniture manufacturer. In 1997, the newly founded Die Moebelmacher GmbH, which now has around 15 employees, moved into the new eco-friendly building in Unterkrumbach, where furniture and kitchens are custom-made from solid wood sourced from the region.
The range is complemented by complete furnishings for kitchens, living rooms, and workspaces, from lighting and upholstered furniture to curtains and even hi-fi systems made from local wood. They have been awarded the Sustainability Prize of the City of Nuremberg, named Bavaria's Environmental Ambassador, won the Thalhofer Prize, and since the 2005 Craftsmanship Prize, they have been ranked among the seven best German craft businesses. In 2010, they won the German Local Sustainability Prize. In 2021 and 2022, they were nominated for the Lammsbraeu Sustainability Award and the German Sustainability Award "Local Hero," and again in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, they won the IGR Innovation Award for Ergonomics, and in 2024, their workshop was named the most beautiful in Germany by the jury of the trade journal DDS. On November 28, 2024, they won the German Sustainability Award 2025 in the furniture and furnishings category.
